Considering
the Little House bristling with difficulties,
Vicenta Maria made a serious resolution over the
necessity of a new Institute that could dedicate
to this work. On March 1868, she made the
Spiritual Exercises at the Monastery of the
Visitation. In this exercises she wanted to
confirm her decision and discern serenely to
ascertain that the will of God is to concretize
the foundation of a new Institute..
She thoroughly
took note of every impression she got in those
days. We still preserve some pages where she
had described the discernment which evidenced
the confirmation of the taken resolutions.
These
conclusions appear in the notes in two columns:

ADVANTAGES |
INCONVENIENCES |
A clearer glory of
God
More poverty
More self-mortification
A great risk to be
despised
How many people will
discredit it!
Continuous effort
Continual sacrifice
An answer to the need
