Jose Maria Garcia,
an uncle priest of Nicolasa, whom the family fondly
calls “Mister Uncle Joaquin” and Dominica Vicuña,
sister of Vicenta Maria’s mother who takes care of
him and who lived in Cascante, stood as the
godparents of the child’s baptism, which she
received 16 hours from her birth, the 23rd
of March. They assumed this commitment as
godparents and had strongly influenced the process
of her faith.
With Aunt
Dominica, she would usually visit the Blessed
Sacrament even at a tender age, accompanies her
“Mister Uncle” to the Church. While he recited the
breviary, the little girl would wander around,
prompting her attention to the image of Christ tied
to a column, a great devotion she had throughout her
life.
She would tell her
parents that “Mister Uncle” speaks to God. She
would praise God, repeats the psalms of thanks, in
blessing and praise. God…always God was the shade
at the depth of her life…even if she could not
understand. Her life, however, begins to open as a
flower to the light…one day she would know who is
God. |
